In December, 2017 WRF donated $20,000.00 to the Iris Foundation to enable the Foundation to continue to offer programs to assist in the prevention of youth suicide and raise awareness of the extent of youth suicide on the Central Coast. The Iris Foundation was established in 2006 and is administered by a volunteer board. In attempting to prevent suicide and raise awareness, the IF focuses on a range of awareness campaigns, as well as in school prevention and early intervention programs.
The Iris Foundation has recently received a second donation of $20,000 in January this year. The funding provided will be used towards the Cool Connections in School Programs that the Iris Foundation run, with a focus on early intervention and suicide prevention, as well as the Tree of Dreams Awareness campaign towards the end of the year.
